Latitude 30
A few years ago, we created Latitude 30, a t-shirt brand focused on hand-carved designs. Based in Austin, Texas, at 30° North, we draw inspiration from our roots in Porto Alegre, Brazil, at 30° South. The name Latitude 30 reflects our connection between the northern and southern hemispheres, blending Austin’s vibrant culture with Brazilian traditions.
Beyond linocut t-shirts, Latitude 30 also features fine art etchings and reflects our passion for soaring.
Printmaking
We began our printmaking journey in Brazil in the 1990s, primarily working with lithography. After moving to Austin in 2013, we shifted our focus to etching and aquatint—you can explore some of this work on our Fine Art Prints page. More recently, we’ve been dedicated to linocut (relief) designs for our t-shirts.
Soaring
Our aviation journey began in 1983 with foot-launch hang gliding in Brazil. In 2015, we transitioned to sailplanes (soaring), a passion that grows stronger each year. We’re proud members of the Fault Line Flyers club in the Austin area. It’s an incredible sport, and we’re excited to start blogging about our cross-country adventures and goals soon.
Photography
Photography has been a passion for much of our lives, serving as a key source of inspiration for our designs. Many of our fine art etchings originate from photographs we’ve taken. While soaring, we document breathtaking flight scenery and the places we’ve explored. We also use photography to capture the printmaking process, from linocut (relief) to etching (intaglio).
